Problems with an E260R
(1/1)

Hi,
I've searched around the forums for an answer, but don't see anything.
I am interested in installing Rockbox on my Fuze. I wanted to check it out first, so I am trying to install on my Wife's old E260R first.
I have followed all of the Rhapsody instructions exactly. I have the original bootloader unlocked. I've installed the .Rockbox directory in the root, and I've installed the correct .mi4 files in the correct locations.
After the reboot, it does it's database thing, but then it doesn't update the firmware. It just boots into the original Sansa interface. When I plug it back into the computer, the 73k PP5022.mi4 file is not in the root of the player anymore. I've even tried changing it to read only, and it still gets deleted. The OF.mi4 file is still in the system folder & the .rockbox directory is still there.
I have a feeling it might have something to do with the player. When I unplug it from the USB, it doesn't reboot on it's own, I have to hold down on power button to do a soft reset. Could that have something to do with it?
-------------------------------------
BTW, here is the reason I have to always do a soft reset upon unplugging it:
My wife got it just a little wet about 6 months ago. I pulled the battery & let it sit for a couple of weeks. It worked fine, at first, then it started freezing, or the controls would freeze & the music would continue playing. It eventually would freeze on booting & not work at all. It would still act normal when plugged into USB, though. I just put it away and let it sit until this past weekend. I let it charge up completely & tried it out and it worked fine, for 2 hours straight. After it sat overnight, it still worked, so I gave it back to my Wife...it froze up at boot for her. Anyway, I've figured out it will boot & play as long as the battery is fully charged.
