RB loads to main menu but no button/key functionality
(1/1)
Keef:
I have installed release 3.3 using Rockbox Utility on an Iriver H10 6GB MTP, together with the H10 MTP Bootloader (from http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-h10_5gb/rockbox-buildch2.html#x4-60002). The installation itself seems to be successful - on startup Rockbox loads and reaches the main menu. But then no buttons or keys have any effect, including the on-off button - so I have to remove the battery to shut the player down. When I use the dual-boot facility to load the original Iriver firmware, everything functions again.
I have searched the FAQs and forums, and the nearest thing to this problem seems to be Bug #5955, but this was closed some time ago and no fix identified. Hope someone can help - the H10 was purchased in March 2006 from Amazon UK,to give an idea of age and locale, and has FM radio.

I had the same issue with my H10, but that was due to a battery (or perhaps capacitor) that was fried on the mainboard inside. Having said that, Davide told me that the board was very different to the scans that were in the Wiki (at that time) so it *may* be possible that there were different hardware revisions in the UK market, the one I had was also purchased in the UK.

Hello.
I seem to be having the same issue : http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,27721.0.html
However, I just tested that small battery and it looks fine, it shows about 3 volts.
Can I ask how that battery (that I suppose is there to keep the real time clock alive) might be related to the hardware buttons not being read? Maybe this would shead some light on my current issue.
Thanks!
