Audio on iPod Nano
« on: August 17, 2009, 04:09:19 AM »
I use my iPod with the headphone out plugged into the mic input on the stereo. With the original apple firmware I'd have to turn the volume right down on the iPod, and the stereo volume right up, otherwise there'd be horrible distortion.

This doesn't happen with Rockbox firmware until the volume is almost at 0dB. The sound is clear and I can leave the stereo at an ordinary volume. I'm just wondering why this is so? It's certainly a lot better than the OF. :D

By definition, volumes below 0dB will not distort, while those above may.  0dB is line level, the highest level without distortion.
