Sansa e280 and 8GB Micro SD (mobile ultra) problems

(1/1)

Hey Everyone

I have a quick question for you all.

I have a Sansa e280 and bought a 8GB Micro SD (mobile ultra) for it.  Of course the e280 can't read the 8GB Micro SD (mobile ultra) on its own, so I immediately started using Rock Box.  I put music on the Micro SD Card using a Micro SD card reader, popped it into my Rock Boxed e280 and was able to play the files perfectly.

Now here comes my problem.

After about a month of using Rock Box, I took out the Micro SD card (mobile ultra) to put new music on the card.  I used the Sandisk approved Micro SD card reader, connected it to my computer (which I used originally to put music on the card), the drive showed up... but I was unable to read card.

I tried my work computer with the same card reader, and the card was still un-readable.  I tried the card reader on my partners Mac, and the Mac wasn't even able to see the reader.  So, I ordered a new card reader... received it... and still the Micro SD card is un-readable.

But in all of this, the Micro SD card is still readable on my Rock Boxed e280.  Robust software to be sure... unless it has made my SD card unreadable somehow.

Any suggestions?

If you have the Currenrt build of RockBox and you start your player before you plug it in, then in MSC mode RockBox should have no problem reading it.  I'm not sure what Mobile Ultra is but my e200's have no problem reading/writing to 8Gb cards.

If you have loaded corrupt files on it you might want to run chkdsk, if  you can.
