Creating database on pc

I have an Ipod 5.5g (30GB), with a relatively big amount of songs on it so that building the database is quiet long... I saw that the possibility to create database on computer have been treated some time ago. See for example:

But this discussions are a little too technical for me...

Does it exist a simple way to that or some kind of howto somewhere ?
