Weird sync issues...
(1/1)
Heratiki:
Ok here goes... I have a Windows Vista machine (Dell XPS M1530) that I installed RockBox from... Everything is fine except for one HUGE issue... With the default FW (Sansa) I am able to sync music through WMP without any issues at all... It was great... I put Rockbox on there and now when I sync it seems to stick on some files... And usually (Not always) when I look back on the files that were just copied over (not converted mind you) there would be some odd file names... Disconnect the player and initialize the database and it would stick and eventually the player would freeze and I would have to disconnect the battery... Here are my specs...
Sansa c240 v1 1GB - With or without my Sandisk 2GB MicroSD...
Vista Home Premium 32bit Laptop...
Windows Media Player 11 (sync with)
I've also tried MediaMonkey with the exact same results just that MediaMonkey just completely CRAPS out when it gets to a "slow" file during the sync...
Please before I pull the hair out of my head help me... I have installed RockBox 3 times after using the "fix a brick" for the c200's...

EDIT: Forgot to add that if I just copy the MP3's over to the device they seem to work just fine... Oh and since I did it this morning I suppose it's the latest Auto Build... 3.3
Further more I have found that if I use WMP (Windows Media Player) to sync the music to the player I can disconnect the player and then reconnect the player and Windows Vista will prompt me to fix the drive... I tell it to fix the drive and anywhere between 2 and 8 songs will be found to be corrupted or misplaced... This happens with either the Onboard memory on the c240 or the SD Card... I have attempted syncing the music to the SD card through a reader and everything is fine... Only when I sync it through the usb does it do this...
BruceHP:
To use Rockbox you must put the player in MSC mode and start the player Before plugging it into your computer.
