Using Gigabeat F while USB Charging

Is there any possibility of listening to music, while my Gigabeat is charging via USB? The other thing is: Is there any chance of charging my Player via USB when the battery is fully drained? I couldn't manage either things.

I don't have a Gigabeat so I don't know if you can usb-plug it without powering it up but if you could, it would most certainly be able to charge faster/stronger.. (??)

As for question One, from the Gigabeat F/X manual, Quickstart http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-gigabeatf/rockbox-buildch3.html#x5-220003 :

3.3.  Charging

The player can be powered over USB without connecting to your computer by holding Menu while plugging in. This allows you to continue using the player normally.

The Gigabeat S does not charge properly/at all from USB if it's fully discharged; not sure if the F/X are the same or not.

I completely drained my Gigabeat F, and found I couldnt charge it using USB from my laptop (which is how I normally charge it).  But I have a USB hub that has an AC adaptor, and with this I could get my Gigabeat F going again.
