My Computer does not Recognise my Sansdisc e200 01.01.07p,
pixelma:
If you think it looks like a c200 and the Rockbox utility detected it as a c200 and the original firmware version sounds like one of a c200, chances are that it really is a c200. - If it has a button "ring" around an almost square centre button and a landscape screen then it is a c200, the e200 has a wheel below a portrait screen (and is a bit bigger). C200 models can have a capacity of 1 or 2GB, e200s have 2, 4, 6 or 8GB capacity.
As far as I know the both are technically not much different (apart from those obvious things) but internally they both use the same processor and audio hardware, so I guess they are from about the same time just different models (a small and a bigger one, not an old vs. new thing).

Just to be sure, check out a few photographs of c200s here:
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=sansa+c250
then look at pictures of e200s here:
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=sansa+e250
I'm betting you have a c200.
Dasha:
thanks yappa & pixlema :-[ My appologies to Cronon, bruceHP, Robin0800 and all who have tried to help me fix it :-[ I do not understand I have alway's thought it was an e200 and have treated it as such!
Okay yappa & pixelma is the firmware different on the c200 please tell me what I should I do now? Dasha
BruceHP:
Does the built-in firmware have both a an MSC USB mode and a Format command?
yapper:
There are individual builds for the c200 and the e200.
Boot the c200 into the Sansa firmware by switching it on and immediately pressing and holding the "Rewind" button until you see the Sansa menu appear. Scroll down to the "Settings" menu then scroll down to the "USB" menu. Make sure there is a check mark beside "MSC". Plug in the USB cable to your PC.
Run Rockbox utility. Look at the "Selected device" line and ensure it mentions c200v1. If it doesn't, click on the "Change" button, then click on the "Autodetect button" (near the bottom of the page). Then click on "OK". At this point the Selected device line should show c200v1.
Make sure the "Quick Start" tab is selected, then click on "Complete Installation". Select "OK" to go ahead and install Rockbox 3.3 for the c200v1. Carefully follow the prompts and you should end up with a correct installation.
If you encounter problems, report back. Good luck.
