iRiver H10 20gb audio level from multi pin connector doesnt adjust with rockbox

You can correct that with with replaygain, which is probably your best bet until you have time to either hack up the audio driver to apply volume adjustments to the line out, or add a volume control to whatever device you're made.

I own an iriver H10 20GB and even in the OF I can't adjust the line out volume level on the player itself, I'm not sure how you find it possible to do so...

full info from my H10 in iriver mode
boot 1.10 PFD Initilize
Firmware V2.51 PFD
MTP version

Looking in the debug section in rockbox
Hardware info
PP version : PP5020E

I got this unit back in August of 2005

If I had anyidea of where to start on programming I would be looking now.  I know it does it because Im sat here racking my brains to overcome the issue so I can maintain Rockbox rather than the OF.
Re: the use of replaygain....  this was the main reason I installed rockbox, because the way I read it was it did a form of 'normalisation' but it was only on further reading and test I found you need to apply replaygain to the files which adds the required info.  Now from what I have read this doesn't work with WMA files (My choice of 'mp3' I prefere the quality to size ratio compaired to 'normal' mp3's)  As I have spent a long time ripping my CD collection and have over 120gb as WMA this is somewhat frustrating too.

If I am wrong on the replaygain could you please point me to a program/link that I can click a look in this HDD and sort it out button.

How do I go about putting in a request for getting line output adjustable option looked into??

Cheers pete

Chronon:
In fact it does work with WMA.  I have just played some WMA tracks and the ReplayGain info was displayed in the WPS.  I then disabled Replaygain and the sound level adjusted by what seems to have been the offset specified (around 4.47 dB in this case).  As far as I remember, I used Foobar 2000 to apply ReplayGain to the tags.

There aren't really feature requests.  You can propose an idea in the Feature Ideas forum and if someone thinks it looks interesting, worthwhile, etc., then they may choose to work on it.

TDIPower:
Cheers for the info.... Ill have to pick this one up when Im back...  Have to suffer the OF for now :(

In the mean time if anyone does fancy working on this situation....

Thanks Folks

Pete
