amorales_08861:
ok i dunno if this has anything to do with it but i just finished filling my rockboxed 3.2 release 8 gb e280 player to the brim and now it doesnt work. i was listening to a song and fell asleep. when i woke(couple mins later) it wasnt playing. so i looked at it and it was frozen. i reset it and when i tried to look at my music folder thru my rockbox file explorer it just hung n didnt open. i tried playing songs thru database n it froze as well. the blue ring doesnt stay on tho, and the screen actually goes black unless i touch the wheel or a button then the blue light n screen back light comes back on. long story short it freezes doin pretty much anything. then i tried to link it to my pc thru usb n as i put it in it turns on. then updates database and then starts charging as normal. but the pc instead of reading it as a sansa as it used to it just says removable disk g and removable disk f. and when i click on these disks they are completely empty. then if i take out usb after this n try n put back in then i will get a usb error. PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!
Chronon:
Try a chkdsk and see if you can fix errors first. If that isn't possible or doesn't fix things for you then try the recovery instructions (which you can find via the SansaFAQ page in the wiki). It sounds like you have a damaged file system somehow. Did you make sure to safely remove the Sansa after filling it? Always "safely remove" rather than simply pulling out the cable.
Please use real words in the title too. Thanks.

sorry for being an idiot but how do i run a ckdsk if i cant get it to read the disk? o n i changed the title
Chronon:
Try the recovery mode then. It seems like you may need to format the device.
Thanks for changing the title. :)
