Which button on which player(s)? Some players have difficulties with lack of buttons already. One thought I had was perhaps allowing PictureFlow to be entered from the Quick Menu (although it isn't a setting, so doesn't really belong there under the current scheme).

Saratoga(or someone :) ), can You please explain me what makes it so difficult to support it? ( I just want to understand... because I still dont get it :D )
Chronon:
As saratoga mentioned, people are free to roll their own builds of Rockbox with whatever changes they like. In order to receive assistance on the forums or report bugs, however, it is asked that certain conditions are met. These include using a current build (or the most recent release). An example of where custom keymaps could cause problems is someone inadvertently making certain actions inaccessible and mistaking the subsequent behavior for a fault in Rockbox (rather than their choice of keymap). I'm sure you can imagine how this can make troubleshooting more difficult and lead to an increased number of invalid bug reports.

For what it's worth, I'm not against the idea of customisable buttons or menus, as long as that customisation is restricted to adding to existing keymaps or menus, and not changing what's there already.
e.g. a feature to allow a user to add extra menu items to the main menu (but not delete any of the existing ones, unless those items were also available somewhere else) seems high on a lot of users' wishlists.
I don't think we should force people to go to unofficial builds for such things. If Apple can support a customisable main menu on ipods, then surely we can.
Whilst people often say this is a "no-do", it's not actually listed on the Rockbox NoDo page:

Apple pay their support staff however - we do not pay ours.
Personally, if did start introducing customisable menus I'd stop answering questions about where to find things that people posted here, as the pain of trying to work out where they're trying to access it from would just be too frustrating for me.
So if someone wants to introduce this as a feature, then they're volunteering to do sole support for it in my opinion.
