Hi,
I'm new to the forum, although I've been using Rockbox on a Sansa e280 for about a year.
Please let me know if this feature already exist, but I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere I looked.
What would be nice is when you have started recording, if you press the record button(ideally) or another button, a file would be created for the recording up to that point and a new file started from that point on.
I am aware of the auto trigger, but in certain if not many cases I feel it would be better if done manually.
This would remove the need to go and separate files after the fact in a computer program.
So, for example, you are in a meeting and responsible of taking notes, you record and when the subject changes, you just press the record button. You don't even have to look at the screen.
Another example, if you are recording your children or someone else playing music in a concert, you press the record button between numbers, and your files are created, one per song.
The same way if you are recording from radio and want to separate songs, subjects, ads, etc.
I like to record my band when we practice so I can use the file to practice with by myself later.
This feature would make it so much easier to use.
Thanks for reading,
Dan
