About Rockchip 2706
« on: July 27, 2009, 04:42:15 PM »
Hi.
I have this player:

it's a Onda VX747 clone but have a Rockchip RK2706 chip, don't a Ingenic Jz4740 like the original VX747.
I would know if Rockbox runs on it. This player don't have any brand so I don't know...
Please tell me

If its not using the same CPU its not a clone and won't be able to run Rockbox.

There hasn't been any porting effort for any Rockchip players at the moment, so no Rockbox doesn't run on it.

Nothing is planned. Ports are usually started when someone says, "Well, I have this player that doesn't run Rockbox, but I think I'm going to change that! I'll start a new port!" and we'll tell them, "Great, good luck and have fun!" There are no real schedules (except for stable releases) or plans... think of us as being rather "ad-hoc" in our ways of working.

If you really want a port, I suggest you read this: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/NewPort
