Because it doesn't run rockbox ?
brinerustle:
what a bummer.
Is there anyplace we can all send a letter to hardware manufacturers asking them to use rockbox as their factory interface (and explaining why they will save money on development) or at least open the drivers so that those of us who want can install rockbox?
GodEater:
Lots of people have tried that, with the results that you can see in the market place.
i.e. no result at all.

I'm not sure why new/current is better. The players don't seem to be getting better.
One of my favorite players is the Sandisk Digital Audio Player which uses a single AAA battery (no recharger needed), plays MP3, Audible (with Chapters), Overdrive library books and has a Balance control and speed control built-in. Not to mention a very good equalizer.
Of course, most of the time I use a Rockboxed Sansa e260 with an 8Gb Micro SD card, total cost $39, and it has great Bookmarking.

I believe you are talking about the sandisk sansa m200 series. I agree, it is a great audio player.
