Sansa e250: USB mode - copying files to device and/or folder display hangs

Hello All,

(Thanks developers... RockBox is great, and saved me from going out and buying a new music player...)

I just performed a manual install of stable release 3.3 onto my Sansa e250.

I'm now attempting to transfer via drag and drop several hundred MB of MP3s, etc... onto the devices stock memory (2GB) and a 16 GB microSHD card using drag and drop on a Mac (Leopard).

Problems:

1.) The file transfer regularly hangs if I try to attempt to transfer more than approximately 10-30 MB of files at one time.

2.) As often as not, the contents of a folder on the device will not display when the device is mounted.

Both problems happen on *both* the 2 GB internal memory and the 16 GB micrSHD card.  The problem doesn't seem to occur when I mount the device in a Windows XP virtual machine running off my Mac.  On the Mac, I'm unable to unmount or cancel the transfers, and have to unplug the device to get any change.  After it hangs, there does not appear to be any continued read/write to the device... it just sits there.

Thoughts?  Am I just too impatient, and the Mac OS's status bar gets ahead of itself and the file copy hangs because of the slow USB transfer.... or is there something else I'm missing?  I'd like to just drag and drop files without having to launch up a Windows XP virtual machine.

Does the original firmware work normally on the machine?

Yes... the original Sansa firmware (v01.02.24A) would allow drag and drop on my Mac without incident via the MSC protocol.
