ipod bugs out
Katosen27:
I've been using Rockbox since I got my 5th gen ipod a few months ago, and never had a problem this reoccurring. Sometimes, it would freeze, but not as often as its been doing the past week.
I'd be playing my music, and want to switch to another song. I press next on the pad, the screen lights up half-way and freezes, or some garbage like 'unknown interaction etc etc' comes up. Its only been like this this past week. I tried to reinstall the firmware, and still got the same problem, and its only been like this since 3.3 (the official release, not the last updated).
I'm trying to see if its just a firmware issue or maybe a hardware issue, but i'm not sure where to put it...

Hi there,
When you want help with a problem, you *really* need to make a note of what the actual error message is, and tell us. They're not there just for fun - they tell us what's going wrong, and let us help you.
Write it down next time, and then report back.
Katosen27:
well, sometimes it doesn't even show any error message...it just freezes up on me =/
ah, there we go;

Thats what I get
GodEater:
Ok, are you using the 30GB or the 60/80GB build on your ipod at the moment ?
Katosen27:
30GB
The generation is 5.5 if that helps any
edit: Nevermind on this whole thread. My ipod's hard drive decided to start its clicking of death.
edit2: I got it to work again, but now its back to the restore with itunes screen. Problem is...it won't even connect to the computer. Unplugged, it goes to the screen bright. Plugged, the screen gets dark with the 'restore with itunes' screen's text on it...not even trying to connect.
