IAUDIO X5 Battery
« on: July 26, 2009, 08:00:42 AM »
Anyone got idea to add an additional Li-ion Polymer battery so that it can run for longer time just like X5L? 'Cause as far as i know X5 has the same PCB as X5L.

The X5L has the larger case of the dual platter hard drive variant of the X5, while only having a single platter hard drive.  The extra space is used for the second battery.
If you have a dual platter hard drive in your X5 currently, you have the case needed to turn it into a X5L, you would need to replace your hard drive, though.

Thx bro, but question is that 30GB or 40GB toshiba 1.8" has single platter case? so that i can change the HDD, then add a new battery above the HDD.

The 30gb X5L has a single-platter drive for sure.

AFAIK the 60gb X5 has the same case back as the X5L, and you could theoretically install a single-platter drive and a 2nd battery. The wiring diagram might be an interesting effort, though. I don't know that the X5L battery hookups are all that well documented.

THX, ej.

But i'm afraid mine is X5 20GB. Nothing I could do to install 2nd battery.

But thank you all the same

You can still get a new battery, which is potentially a better battery, but since the original is soldered in the replacement isn't as simple as most DAPs.

hello, guys. Im a happy owner of x5, and it have FANTASTIC sound. So, for upgrade I choose
64GB COMPACT FLASH + http://www.ebay.com/itm/200787684752?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1369wt_954

Now i need new battery.

Anyone know the capacity of default battery?

What do you think about this one:

And what do you think if I take a random battery from cell phone and put it there?
