ipod 5.5G: themes dont work

hi!

i tried to get some nifty theme on rockbox for the ipod to work - but whenever I try to select one of the themes in the settings menu, rockbox turns into a 2color-nerdy interface. without any graphics or stuff. the only way to stop rockbox doing this is to reset the settings.

any advice?

What theme are you trying to use?

actually, the "pod" theme. however, this error occurs with any theme i'm trying. even if I try switching back to the default theme, it doesnt work

i'm using the latest rockbox installer.

What build of Rockbox are you using?

i had this issue with both the 3.3 stable as well as with the latest nightly build

Three questions (just to be sure):
1 - Where are you getting the themes?
2 - How are you installing them?
3 - Are you 100% sure you don't have an iPod Color/Photo? 

EDIT:  Nope to #3 - saw in your previous thread the PID matches that of an iPod Video.

ok, I fire up rbutilqt.exe and connect my iPod. rockbox itself is working fine on the ipod.

then I choose "install themes" in the "extras" tab. in the next dialog i choose any or all of the listed themes. rbutilqt.exe says OK, installation finished, and thats it..

And Rockbox Utility is correctly autodetecting your player as a Video?

The Pod theme for the Ipod Video seems to be broken.
in the .cfg it says:
wps: /.rockbox/wps/SansaPod.wps

But the actual WPS in the theme is called "Pod.wps".

yes, rbutil recognizes the ipod as ipod 5G video.

I tried to edit the .CFG like this:
wps: /.rockbox/wps/Pod.wps

now the themes dont work at all. no change occurs.

Let's start over, something appears to have been corrupted.  (I hope!)
See Manual section 12.3.3 and reset settings.
Reboot (when I say reboot I mean shutdown with a long press of the Play button, then power back on, I do not kick the player with Menu+Select)
Problem persists?


Make sure you install the 30GB install of the iPod Video, not the 60/80GB install, regardless of HDD size.
