I boy lagging
« on: July 20, 2009, 09:05:58 PM »
Hello I have i boy and tried running a few games(double dragon, zelda, simpsons). They all lag bad is this normal? also doom lags pretty bad as well. I have a generation 5 classic? its a white 30gb. it is rockbox version r20680-090410 if this helps.

Edit: just realized iboy isnt part of rockbox SORRY. but any info is still appreciated.

Are you using the gameboy viewer from within Rockbox? If so, then due to the relatively low power of the CPU (and the lack of documentation on the broadcom chip) and the size of the screen, the performance is not going to be great for all but the simplest games.

If you're using iBoy in iPod Linux then you're right, we can't help with that!

And how should anyone be able to provide info on something that is not part of Rockbox?

Well I think he just got the name confused - iBoy confused with Rockboy.  It's happened before.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.

I hope you're not serious about that JD, that would just be kind of awkward...

Thanks for all the info. I figured it was too much for it. Is rockboy faster than iboy? I just love the idea of being able to play gameboy games without having to carry it also. thanks again.
