found bug need to test but how? [solved!]
« on: July 22, 2009, 05:20:07 AM »
i have voice turned on but only to announce battery levels. it goes off at 50% and i think 30 and 15. i just noticed a bug where when it gets to the percent instead of saying "Battery" it says "Buffer". if i upgrade to the newest version how could i test this without having to wait forever for the battery to get lower? i am running version r21964-090718 also as of right now i cant even download the newest version. all thats on the current rockbox builds page is archos and the source file.

This is *probably* not a bug: the voice file you are using needs to come from the exact same build of Rockbox as the actual program, otherwise some things may play the wrong sample. I can't think of an easy way to test just the battery case, but it's likely that if that sample is wrong then so will others be: just turn on full voicing for menus and you will probably find that some menu options are voiced incorrectly as well.

We don't currently have any mechanism for Rockbox to let you know if you are using the wrong voice file, unfortunately.
