Bootloader question
macgeek417:
On my e250, Could I unencrypt the rockbox bootloader and replace the sansa bootloader screen with it? On my e250 the sansa BL screen takes forever to load
saratoga:
Yes, see the instructions in FS#8642. However if you do this you will lose access to recovery mode and would have to use e200tool if you ever broke your firmware.

OK... How could I install the unencrypted RB bootloader so that if i press the << key (i think that's the one that opens the OF?) it will boot the OF. At one point, on the NAND filesystem i had created a directory /System/OF.mi4 that contained an RB install so that when booting with USB plugged in it would boot RB (instead of throwing up an error because i didn't have the OF installed)
So, in short, could I put the OF in a directory on the main filesystem /System/OF.mi4 or a decrypted /System/OF.bin and when I push the << (?) key on startup it boots into the OF? That would let me restore the OF if anything ever went wrong, as long as the OF.* file was uncorrupted.

This is the normal behavior of the bootloader. You don't need to do anything to get it to dual boot.

No it would not. Having the OF on disk does nothing if the bootloader is corrupt, since you cannot power up a Sansa in anything but manunfactoring mode without a bootloader.

You misunderstood. I'm not worried in the slightest about the BL being corrupt. I'm takling about my RB instalation
If I use the RB BL, skipping the OF BL, could i still boot the OF?
