Charging My Sansa e260

(1/2) > >>

Pjstaab:
I'm going to be gone for 2 weeks without a computer to charge my e260.  My cellphone use a mini usb to charge so I could wire that up for my e260 but I was wondering if 5v and 500mA is going to kill my e260 though.

ej0rge:
5v 500ma is precisely what USB is supposed to supply.

BruceHP:
FYI, Amazon.com has a standalone e200 charger for under $1.

Pjstaab:
Alright, glad to know I won't fry my e260.  I was looking at the charging section on the e200 series and it was saying stuff about 3.8-4.5 volts or something similar so I wanted to make sure I didn't kill it.

Thats the voltages for the battery, not the Sansa's dock connector.  The connector uses standard USB, and therefore has to be 5v.  You only need to care about the battery voltages if you're going to take the battery out of the Sansa and try to charge it separately.
