Album Art problems
« on: July 17, 2009, 08:58:18 AM »
Hello all.

I've been using Rockbox ever since I got my iPod Video a few days ago (I traded my Nano for a Video just for Rockbox :D) and it's awesome. However, I do have a slight problem with my songs. All my songs have album art in their ID3 tags and they work just fine on the Apple firmware. However, using Rockbox, I cannot see the album art. Pictureflow doesn't work too.

The question is, how do I make my album art work? Do I have to transfer the album art files to my iPod or something?

Thanks in advance. :)

You're going to have to explain your problem first.  What are you trying to do that doesn't work?

I use rockbox 3.3 with the AAFreak theme and it works great with album art. Rockbox doesn't support embedded album art but it does support album art that's placed in the folder along side your music. What I usually do is open up the album I want art for in MP3tag editor and search the amazon database for the tags and art. If I like the tags the way they are I just select extract album cover and it puts a 300x300 jpeg album cover in the folder. Another easy way to manage album art for Rockbox is use Rockbox Album Cover Downloader which can find art for you by url but is not as robust as MP3tag.

The only thing I am unsure of is what to name the cover art jpeg and/or length of characters to work. The downsizing of higher res jpeg's doesn't seem to work if you already have art included with your music. What it is the max resolution rockbox can support for album art that can still be downsized by rockbox?
