Database scanner crashes [was: I recently installed rockbox]

every time i try and create the database at full battery, sometime into it it, the ipod will crash and start back up at 0% battery i have no idea whats going on.  when it is building the database, it sounds like the hard drive is whirring away and suddenly there is a click and the ipod resets

help?
