how do you save your recording

I have a sansa c250 I installed the rock box everything else works just fine so when I hit the record button , i then go to the save. .cfg file .... the screen is split the cursor stays on the top and just moves around if I hit the menu button then "cancelled" shows up and I start all over again ????

you hit the record button to start recording and stop to stop. It saves all by itself.
Or what did you mean?

The recording is saved automatically as petur said (unlike the Sansa firmware does) but I wanted to add something about the .cfg file you mentioned.

This menu option is there to save all the settings you use for recordings, it means "save a configuration file". It is meant to easily switch between some settings, for example if you switch from radio recording to microphone recording and want to use different file types for each, or a different recording directory and so on. The screen you are taken to if you chose this menu option is the so-called "virtual keyboard" which lets you type the filename you want to give your configuration file. How to operate it is described in the Rockbox manual and you are asked to read it (Virtual keyboard section, Recording section and search in it for answers to upcoming questions).

Also: please take your time for the post and write out completely what you see and in longer sentences. It is really hard to understand what exactly you want and what your problem is - it's also hard to help you then...
