The bouncing block tells you the same. Especially as files do not need to be sorted the same way on disk as they are displayed in the browser you can't tell anything from the current filename.

I think that background copying would be quite handy.  Maybe with an icon on the status bar similar to the "disk activity" one (or showing the progress percentage if it's decided to go that way).  I guess that would mean you would need to allow for queuing of copy/move operations.
