Missing Video Files on Sansa E200 - Please Help!!

(1/1)

Spacedog2k5:
I'm currently using Rockbox 3.3, and while I have not experienced any of the already-noted "bugs", I am experiencing one that is bothering me, and hopefully, someone can help me..

I woke up this morning, taking my E200 off charge. Turned it on, and after adding some new songs, as well as a very short video I made of my dog Molly, I rebooted it. The songs were added to the database, but the new video, as well the other 2 that were there previously, were all gone.

I thought perhaps upgrading might help, so I installed Version 3.3, usuing the Rockbox Utility. Everything is fine overall - I like the new upgrade, but the video files are still missing.  :(

Can anyone advise as how to fix this problem? Or if there even is a fix?  ???

Did you check your "file view" settings? It sounds like you accidentally changed it to "music files". For the videos to show up it needs to be set to "supported" at least (or "all files" if you want to see hidden folders which might be interesting if you use the Sandisk firmware to connect to USB - see SansaFAQ). The settings also persist an update because they are stored in a seperate file.

For further help it would help you if you could give some more information, for example how you put the video files onto your e200, how they were generated and where you look for them on the player - e.g. the latter because your statement about the database made me wonder for a second whether you look for them under "Database"...

EXCELLENT!!  ;D Thank you sooo much!! That worked. I changed the file settings like you said, and they came back!! You've made my day even brighter. Now I just need to d/l WinFF so I can resize the videos to fit properly. Thanks again for the help..
