Wikipedia (again) wwi index creation failure
« on: July 04, 2009, 11:26:54 PM »
Well, I'm back working on getting Wikipedia on my Gigabeat S. I successfully have the patch on my player, and have also successfully created the wwa files using the xmlconv utility. But when I try to use the btcreate utility, it shows some text (presumably from some of the articles, as it mentions random facts) in the console, says "kill", then stops. I am using Debian with KDE. Btw, that computer has no internet access. All files have to be downloaded on my Windows PC and transferred via flash drive.

Thanks. I may end up having to do that. That would be kind of a last resort though. I would like to have an up to date dump. It would be kind of a pity to do all this work then just download it though. Anyone else have an idea how to fix this?

Update: I just figured it out. I forgot to mention that the whole computer (Debian) slowed to a crawl after a while of using btcreate, as in the mouse was choppy. I tried it on my much faster Windows PC using Cygwin and it worked. If anyone is interested in the files I could upload it somewhere, if someone suggests a good host. Thanks again for the help.
