Strange Sansa e270 Behaviour - Buttons not reacting
« on: July 04, 2009, 04:48:04 PM »
Yesterday, my sansa started acting strange after i created several bookmarks. it's running the latest release (3.3) and now i sometimes cannot access neither the power nor the select button. start screen is set to main menu, so when i start up, i can scroll through the menu using the wheel, but i can't access anything. i had to shut it down (30 sec power button press). i guess this has something to do with my windows xp pc, because it doesn't recognize the sansa, when i try to use rb's usb mode, only the of connects. But the of didn't work either at one point. so i took it to another machine and ran chkdsk on the sansa and it found and fixed some errors, then i formatted and installed the corresponding OF from the daniel.haxx site. lastly i reinstalled rb, but i still cannot access the device on the computer. Do you think i have to reinstall my machine or can this be fixed someway? also, what causes the filesystem corruption? when i plug the sansa in to that machine, i get the unknown usb device window from xp but can't install, so i neither can eject it. but when the driver's not installed then the pc won't access the device's storage, meaning it's insignificant when i unplug the sansa, right? where does the corruption come from, then?
