Turning screen 90 degrees

I know RB allows you to have the screen upside down, but is there any way (custom theme perhaps?) to have it rotated by 90/270 degrees?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm about to make an old iPod Mini a permanent, non-removable part of an old boombox, but the construction of the boombox doesn't allow me to mount the board vertically. I can only mount it horizontally, and since the screen's cable is way too short to allow for any kind of twisting, the screen becomes vertical.

I think you'd have to alter the video driver to rotate the pixels 90 degrees as its writing them.

About what you ask of using a theme for this, as probably the last option, and only as a partial - and a very uncomfortable - solution, I think it might possible, but here's how it would be:

- Icon displaying wouldn't have any problems (playing status, repeat, shuffle, etc)
- Progress bar would be seen as "vertical"
- If a 90 degrees rotated font would be created (it's possible by rotating each character in the .fnt file), text could be displayed/seen to be read vertically
- And of course, probably the worst part would be that anything outside the WPS would keep the original orientation (menus, browsing...)

It would possibly require a rewrite for ipod though... but you know at least where to start from.

That patch is not a good starting point if the goal is to get the feature accepted.
