This is a really old feature which I'm guessing 90+% of you have never seen... so I'm trying to see how many people would complain if it was removed.

It is currently enabled on exactly 1 target (the archos recorders) and doesn't make sense to enable on any others except maybe touchscreen targets (which may get them a different way).

The reason I want to remove them is because it makes some upcoming changes much easier to develop.

Just as a note - the button functionality wouldn't be removed, just the displayed bar on the bottom of the screen.

Imo this poll doesn't tell much, as only users owning such a target can evaluate this feature properly. Also, as per 'configure' it is three targets, not one.

If the new code is not able to handle the button bar, I'd deem it less flexible than the old code...

What the hell is a button bar? Something like the springboard on iPod Touch devices?

It is a graphical element on a couple of the old Archos players. I suspect the manual for them might help you out.
