Sansa e200 series doesn't appear in Linux, does in Windows.

PcPixel:
I've been using RockBox for a while now & absolutely adore it. However something happened when I upgraded to 3.3. If I am in LinuxMint 7.0 and plug in the Sansa it doesn't see anything but the USB icon appears on screen. If I reboot my laptop into Windows, the Sansa is there. Any ideas?

saratoga:
Its an ubuntu bug.  Check their bug tracker.  I'm not sure if they patched it yet.

AlexP:
It has been fixed upstream in libgphoto2 (where the real (and very silly) bug was) - I don't know if it has made it down into ubuntu yet.

The same thing happened to me. It is, in fact, a ubuntu bug. I fixed it by deleting the libgphoto2 file mentioned above.  /usr/share/hal/preprobe/10osvendor
Some people said this would only worked temporarily, but it has worked for months now for me.  It was a pain rebooting every time I wanted to use my sansa, so I hope this helps.

Chronon:
I noticed the behavior change after a HAL update a couple of weeks ago (I think. . . time is a bit fluid for me right now).  My Rockboxed players are getting properly auto-mounted in Ubuntu's Jaunty now.
