new plugin?
awerty83:
Yeah that's the last version license :o
Is it actually possible to convert a game to .rock???
If yeah, how many years are needed for building a complete plugin???
EDIT
Raigan Burns and Mare Sheppard / Metanet Software Inc. grant a non-exclusive, non-transferable,
royalty-free license to distribute "N" only as follows:
Individuals are encouraged to share and give copies of
"N" to friends, family, coworkers, and members of any
not-for-profit organization, but only without charge and
without ADVERTISING ACCOMPANYING ITS DISTRIBUTION. That is:
you may NOT distribute N for money. This includes money
made from any location or source where there exists
advertising, or other product endorsements of any kind without
prior consent of the authors, Raigan Burns and Mare Sheppard / Metanet Software Inc..
So:RB can make a plugin.But can't sell it.So license isn't problem
GodEater:
The point is, if the license is not GPL compatible, it's not going into Rockbox. So in this case, the answer is never.
torne:
You need the source code to port a program to a different platform. N does not have source code available. Thus nobody can port it but the original author anyway, regardless of license :)
robin0800:
You could, as a last resort, contact the authors and see if they are willing to release the source code under GPL.
mcuelenaere:
Even then, the source code of this game is probably ActionScript and Flash stuff; meaning not easy to port to C (without floating point and malloc abilities).
My guess is this game can only be ported if you'd start from scratch.
