Album Art not showing (r21539-090628) sansa e250

(1/1)

John Brown:
I use media monkey to transfer my music to my sansa and my music is organized: MUSIC>Ron Kenoly>High Places>Alive.mp3, album art.jpg
The album art is not in the tag and can be viewed using the viewer. I have downloaded all album art themes from the rockbox utility and they do not work.

Horscht:
to sum it up: you're albumart is named wrong.

see http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/AlbumArt#How_To_Use_Album_Art for the proper placement/naming of albumart files.

yapper:
Another thing to be aware of is the limitations of JPEG support. See section C.2 of the Manual :

--- Quote ---Rockbox does not support RLE-compressed BMP files, nor does it support progressive and multi-scan JPEG files. JPEG files must consist of a single scan with interleaved components, as progressive and multi-scan images require much more memory to decode.
--- End quote ---

Regarding placement of files, I personally have my albumart at /.rockbox/albumart/artist-albumtitle.jpg as it is a lot easier to maintain. I leave all album art on the player even if the corresponding music isn't currently on the player, as it makes syncing a lot easier (only music has to be transferred). At the moment I have album art for about 300 albums loaded and it takes less than 13MB.

John Brown:
Oh, thanks I realized that it was because it was not called "cover.jpg".

Or any of the other alternatives.
