El Jefer:
I have had rock box before and ended up uninstalling it but i decided to give it another try and no i have issues........ whenever i go to files-----my music ------album there is no tracks showing up. this kinda scares me because i have a ton of music on there. ive tried updating the database but it never finishes. I don't know what to do. somone out there please help me i don't want to uninstall this great program off of my gigabeat.
bottom line, how can i get all my tracks to show up, i know they are there because whenever i plug it in to the computer it shows that the album files do have tracks in them, its just not showin up on rockbox, anyone know whats wrong????

Please remember that details are important. At the very least, you should always tell us what version of Rockbox you are using, and what player you are using it on. What type of files are these (MP3, WMA ...)?
Check the "Show Files" setting.
Updating the database will have no effect on what you see in the "Files" area.
El Jefer:
sorry!!!
I have a toshiba gigabeat F-40
all of my music files are mp3 and wma
i am running rock box 3.3
also i went to show files and selected show all......now its showing all the files but i cannot play any of the music.
example this is what it looks like
songNAME.mp3.SAT
does the .sat have anything to do with it
GodEater:
Yes, the .SAT extension means you've loaded the files onto the player whilst it was running the original firmware, and THAT means that they are encrypted.
Rockbox does not play encrypted files.
We have a guide somewhere in the wiki on how to remove this encryption from your files though, so there is still hope :)
It's here :

El Jefer:
