Ipod G4 Colour: Battery not charging in Rockbox

I am using a mains charger with my machine & I find that it does not charge in Rockbox.

I have to boot into original Ipod software & THEN charge.

RB manual says it should work.....but it doesn't!
(using RB 3.3).

Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

Some models of iPod only charge in a low power mode with current versions of Rockbox. This may mean they charge very very slowly (12+ hours for a full charge), do not actually manage to charge at all, or even discharge while plugged in - it depends how high the player's power consumption is (is the disk active, is the lcd turned on, etc). This is FS#8802 on the bug tracker, and it's being worked on. :)
