Disable Headphone jack when recording on on ipod (Video / Nano issue only?)
« on: June 19, 2009, 01:10:35 PM »
Hello

Is it possible to disable the headphone jack when recording on an ipod 5g using rockbox?

I know the apple firmware does it during recording.

If so, how?

Not sure I understand the question - as there is no recording on the 5th gen iPods through the headphone plug.  The 5th gen only records via line-in through the dock connector.

Aye, I'm familiar with the lack of recording on the 5g jack socket.

The thing is, recording with the dock connector creates a hiss in the right recording channel, when using rockbox. But not with the Apple firmware.

The difference between the two recording methods is that the apple firmware turns off the headphone monitoring when record is pressed.

Hence, I figure that if I disable the earphone when recording is pressed using rockbox....et voila..... I think the hiss in the right channel will stop.

Just don't know how to do it, cos i'm not a coder. :)

Thanks

You'd have to add it to the audio driver I think.
