Sansa E260 with rockbox 3.3 boots to sansa firmware when connecting to USB
HMZ:
Hi,
I've just installed the brandnew 3.3 rockbox version on my Sansa E260 (V1). I have also re-installed the bootloader using Rockbox-Utility on Linux. When the device is switched off and I connect it to my computer via USB, it starts booting into rockbox first. But after a short time (just some seconds) it reboots into Sansa firmware.
Everything works fine if the device ist switched on before connecting it. This just happens if the device is switched off before connecting.
Any idea?
Regards
Heiner
P.S.: Great work - keep on rocking!!!
Llorean:
There hasn't yet been a new bootloader, so the bootloader behaviour hasn't changed. This is not a bug.
Just turn on your player, and then insert USB after Rockbox has booted, and wait for the next bootloader release.

I just compiled a bootloader from the current source and installed it on my e260 and it now boots up into rockbox when turned on from the usb port. My guess is that either they forgot to include the new bootloader in the new release or did not feel it underwent adequate testing.
GodEater:
It was not forgotten. Bootloaders are not considered part of the release cycle process.

Mark, I have the same problem and very distressed about this issue (I use my Sansa e280 as a car player; problem with bootloader appear even if you using a car charger, it's very annoying)
Could you, please, post compiled bootloader and short instructions how to install it?
