Imbedded Album Art
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:18:51 AM »
I want to install RB on my iPod Video (5.5 gen) that currently has over 400 ripped mp3 files on it (no iTune files on it).  All files have imbedded album art in I3 tags.  Do I need to eliminate the imbedded album art and add jpgs to each separate artist file before I install RB onto iPod or can I leave files as they are, initialize the database, and just add jpgs to iPod after I install RB?

You should be able to leave the embedded album art if it isn't too big.  If it's quite large then Rockbox may have trouble parsing all of the metadata, resulting in missing tags.  I had some embedded album when I used Rockbox on a 5g iPod a couple of years ago and didn't have issues.
