possible problems related to windows media player?
« on: June 13, 2009, 10:33:20 AM »
Hi there

When i sync my files to my mp3 player using WMP, rockbox will sometimes not read the songs right, giving them stupid names, totally unrelated to the music.  for example, if i put on a beatles album, rockbox would read some of the songs as "kawasaki" or "ducati", for the life of me i do not know where these names ever came from!

i did edit the names of the songs, but when i went ot play them, they wouldnt play, the same songs will show up in the original firmware, with the correct song names, but they wont play, it just says "bad track".  if i leave the editing of the songs alone, they play ok, it is just they are not in  order, all over the place.

i downloaded media monkey, i dony know if this will make any differenece.  has anybody had any similar problems?

my mp3 player is:  Sansa Sandisk E280 V1

What was the outcome and some of the answers to the questions raised in this topic:

Do you use the database or use rockbox as a file browser?

I use Media Monkey to edit my tracks and I have no problems with tags having incorrect names.
