Sansa C240 switches back to sansa firmware on USB connect

I just installed my RB on my sansa c240 and when i connect it to my computer it does one of two things:

1. Flashes the RB USB connect screen, then the RB boot screen, then the sansa boot screen then it goes back to the RB boot screen is stays, completely frozen until it suddenly is at the sansa main menu. Not once detected by my computer at all.

OR

2. It flashes from the RB boot screen to the sansa boot screen, then shows the RB USB connect screen then goes into the sansa USB connect screen where it maintains the sansa firmware and still wont recognize my SDHC card.

I've tried reinstalling RB, USB mode is set to MSC. What's the problem (or rather, whats the solution?)
Thanks!

NOTE: It also flashes between the RB and sansa boot screens once or twice when i boot it.. idk if this is normal...

What version of Rockbox are you using?  You need a current build if you want to use USB within Rockbox.  The release version does not have USB mode enabled and is supposed to boot into the SanDisk firmware when a USB insertion is detected.

I installed with the installer utility...

You didn't answer my question.  Which build did you install with the installer?

MisterBixby:
Actually, I'm having the same behavior on my Sansa c250 after installing RockBox Stable Build 3.2. The only way to interact with the device is to force it to boot into the Sansa FW. If I let the Sansa FW take over from Rockbox, it doesn't present the "Connected" screen and allows me to use the normal Sansa menu structure and the PC can't locate the drive.

I can't find any USB settings on the RockBox menus.

Should I have installed the current build instead?
