Custom Keyboard layout with the default system font

(1/1)

porio:
Hi,
I've come to the world of Rockbox using it with my (yet unsupported) Sansa Clip. It really rocks!! Really makes me wonder why several  features (gapless, folder AND tag browsing, etc.) aren't implemented in MP3 players by default.

But the thing that brings me here is very specific: I want to have a custom keyboard layout because the default one doesn't have Ñ and ñ. It's the only letter that an spanish user can miss from the default layout. But when I load my custom layout, it's displayed in the custom font, and it doesn't work OK all the time (because the small Clip screen has a gap between the yellow and blue pixels and you have to be careful when using fonts higher than 9 pixels).

So, to make the story short: can I have a custom keyboard layout with the default system font?

Thanks!

Automatic translation, sorry.

I also owe it, the Hebrew language also makes problems with the layout.
Should have four lines 2 and 2 orange color blue as the default.
Maybe it's a problem of fonts.

Please help!

Please help - I have come exactly to the same question and found no answer:

Is it possible to use a custom KBD file but stay with the system font?

The layout does not match the screen size on my sansa clip zip.
As I have set up the RB build environment it would be OK to get a solution by (easy) code changes.

Nephiel:
For a Clip Zip in Spanish, I use the font 08-Namil.fnt included in the font pack, and the keyboard layout I'm attaching here (remove the .txt extension). Hope it helps.
