broken ipod nano: adding "hold" functionality via menu/keypress

Hey there. My ipod nano has a broken hold switch, and I've been keeping it inside an altoids tin. I'd rather do without this crude hack, and now that I've seen what rockbox can do I'm sure this isn't outside its reach.

crux: Is there any way of adding "hold" functionality to my ipod nano via a menu or a button press in rockbox?

there is if you dont mind compiling your own build.
you need to modify a few files, bassically you need to enable the HAVE_SW_HOLD define which wil let you change a button/combo in the WPS to act as a hold toggle
