"Car" theme by Wesley Clifford
« on: May 30, 2009, 02:28:05 PM »
Anyone tell me what happened to this theme?
It is the only one I can see in my car w/o my glasses,
unless I need new computer glasses?

Thankx

Can you be more specific? which target do you have? when was the last time you had this theme working? where did you get it? If you have it stored on any media accessible to you, there'll be no problem making it work again.

Wesley Clifford is Yotto on these forums IIRC.
The only theme by him I see anywhere is here.

Now that I've done the detective work and figured out who is responsible for that theme I'll PM him and ask him to permissively license it.

Hello!

I've been pretty inactive here, but I check the forums weekly.

I will happily permissively license the WPS. I'm kinda jazzed actually that it's being used; I just threw it together on a request. It's still in the Wiki here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WpsIpod5gGraveyard#Car_v1_0 and feel free to use it, with the caveat that it may not work anymore. I wrote it quite a while ago.

I need to look into exactly what's needed to make it "legal" for the new site. The main reason I haven't bothered adding licensing to my themes is that I'm a very lazy person, so while I know that there's an official theme site with all these requirements and I'd love my themes up there, I can't quite get the gumption to actually put them there.  :-\

The theme I've been using for about a year wasn't even put up on the old site (The Wiki) because of this. :) But I'll work on it. In the meantime don't hesitate to get it off of the Wiki link above.

UPDATE:

Yeah I just checked the theme, and it's got some issues. It still "works" but the progress bar is broken and the words don't show up on the screen the same way they used to. I'll fix it before I fully upload it, but I'm not 100% sure when I can. Hopefully during this week.

Thanks everybody.. The theme works and I have a pointer in the config.cfg file. But everytime I reboot my Ipod Video 60/80, I have to re-load it in the Theme's folder. As I did'nt orginally save it, wasn't sure if it was the theme, my configuration or my Ipod.

How are you "reboot"ing your iPod?

The only way I know is by manipulating the switch and then holding down menu and select.

Hold down the "Play" button until the iPod shuts itself off. The hit "Menu" or "Select" to power it back on.

Doing it the way you've been is a hard reset, and doesn't let Rockbox save it's settings cleanly.
