iPod mini+RB+Bose sounddock II
« on: May 27, 2009, 08:35:48 AM »
Hi all.
I've just installed RB on my mighty first generation mini iPod, and it works smoothly.
My FLAC files sound great and the itunes db has been imported without mistakes.
I'm used to listen my iPod on a Bose SoundDock II station.
Rockbox plays gracefully, but no input from the remote control is sent to the iPod, not play, skip, fwd/rew, nor off: when I press the on/off key on the remote, my sounddock turns off but the ipod keeps plaiyng.
if I turn the iPod off manually though, when I use the remote control to turn the sounddock back on, the ipod correctly comes to life showing the apple logo, the rockbox logo and the main menu.
just to let you know my experience.

bye,
pomarc

Hi,

I'm sure this information will prove useful to some people - so could you please add it to the wiki page for Apple Accessories. We prefer static information to stay in the wiki - the forums are to swiftly changing for it to prove very useful there.

Thanks.

Am I interpreting this correctly that the Bose dock is likely waking up the iPod by applying power to the iPod as if it were a charger?

That's certainly the way I was interpreting it.
