What is the intended use of the USB HID feature?
Thanks,

Could you be more specific about what you're asking?
There's no "intended" use. It provides media-button like controls, which you can either use as such or if your OS / applications allow, map them to other functions.

I don't think I need to be more specific. I believe that you have answered my question.
Do I understan you to say that the RockBoxed media player can be used as a USB input device (key-mapped) for the Windows PC? especially a media app?
Thanks,

Llorean:
Basically, that's one of the goals yes. I'm not sure as to its current status (haven't tried it out myself) but it should be possible to adjust volume, pause and resume playback and so in a program on your PC by pressing the buttons on an attached MP3 player. This will only be able to work on certain ones though (those with software USB).
AlexP:
And it works brilliantly. It sends the same commands as used by the buttons on a multimedia keyboard (I think - I'm sure someone will correct me if not :)), so anything that works with those should work with this.
