max capacity in Rockbox for ipod photo hard drive upgrade?

(1/3) > >>

PickupBetty:
Hello--I hope I'm posting to the correct topic.

I would like to upgrade the hard drive in my 20gb ipod photo to 60gb.  It occured to me to check for any issues, since I plan to use Rockbox exclusively and not itunes.

Does anyone know of any Rockbox reason I should not upgrade?  Thanks!

froggyman:
you may want to check if it is the same thickness as your old one ; if it is thicker you will need a different backplate

PickupBetty:
Thanks, froggyman.  I didn't know that you could change the thickness just by swapping backplates.

It just occurred to me that my question should probably go in "Database"

Thanks again.

froggyman:
you wont have any problems with the DB or with rockbox assuming you dont go over 137GiB.

you would need a biggr backplate though if the drive is thicker

It's 128GiB, which is approximately 137GB.
