Status of Rockbox support for Sansa E200 v2? Buy another device?

I went through all the non IPod devices supported by Rockbox which are available on eBay and I could find only a Sansa E200. After ordering it, I find out it's a Sansa E260 v2. I didn't know about compatibility issues with RB.

After going through the forum, it seems v2 is not supported by RB. What is the status of v2 support?

This thread has developers talking about code. I guess they are still working on it? Is support coming out soon or should I go look for another device?
