"No Ipod Detected"
« on: May 20, 2009, 01:14:09 AM »
I have the 2nd generation, 2GB Apple Ipod that I want to put RockBox into, when I go into disk mode and put it into my computer, it shows up in the E: Drive, as the name that I named my Ipod..its in...File System: FAT 32...

I select the E: Drive and the 2nd generation Ipod in the list under the Selected Device category on main startup of rockbox...and then go "Complete Installation" and says no Ipod detected... yet it is plugged in computer (under E: Drive and it comes up in Itunes) and yes I do have itunes closed the whole time...

what am I doing wrong..

I am using windows XP and I am using the admin account....

There is no 2nd Gen 2GB Ipod. There is the 2nd Gen Ipod, which never was available as 2GB and there is the 2nd Gen Nano. The latter is not supported by Rockbox, as stated on the front page.

You are not using the "Autodetection" button in the configuration dialog. If you do it will show you a notice that you have an unsupported player. Why are you selecting the player manually?
