Rockboxed Ipod mini dont charge anymore

(1/2) > >>

Bonhomme7h:
I forget my ipod mini open the other day whit auto change folder on, It's completely drained my battery. I plugged it overnight but when I tried to open it I only get the low battery icon ??? Reset it when plugged get me the charging icon, but he is not recognized as an usb device. Reset it unplugged give nothing more than the low battery icon.

I miss my iRiver H132... He dont get this crappy capricious firmware. 30 seconds charging and he was up and running ::)

GodEater:
It will charge, you're just not giving it long enough. If you've deeply discharged the battery, you'll want to try leaving it on charge for 48 hours or so. And don't touch it until the 48 hours are up.

Bonhomme7h:
I will give it more time, thank you.

It is a battery or a firmware problem? I got a new one in the mail from Taiwan that will arrive this week, twice the original capacity, I hope it will solve the problem. Anyway, I will not use the auto change directory option anymore, two days without music is far to long for me.

Bonhomme7h:
Second dead battery in two months...

I didn't have the time to try to recharge it longer, my new battery arrive the next day and it booted up immediately. I installed the last build to solve the bug but the usb stopped working, so I came back to Rockbox 3.2. Two weeks later: a party, a few beers and a too long playlist killed it again....

Now, when I reset it when plugeg rockbox is able to boot veeeeeeeeeery slowly. It load a tune but immediatly turn on the backlight, show the message "Battery empty! RECHARGE! Shutting Down..."
But never shut down. The backlight and the message stay on, draining the battery to the last available electron. I cant confirm but I think this is the bug who killed my two batteries.

It is plugged in the wall for a week now, I reseted it once every 2 or 3 days but the battery meter stay at 0.

I miss my ihp-132 :( When the buttons started to broke I looked for the smallest available mp3 player compatible whit rockbox and my 32gb CF card, I made a mistake...  Now i'm not sure if I should give another chance to my mini and buy another battery and pray for the bug to be fixed or invest in a good old and trusty iriver H320. What do you think?

Oh, and excuse my english mistakes, I dont have the occasion to practice it often.

TexasRockbox:
I have an ipod 5.5G and it seems that something has changed as to how charging by USB is performed.  What I do is:

1) Ensure the ipod is turned off
2) Connect the USB cable to the ipod and ipod charger
3) Plug in the USB ipod charger and touch nothing.
